A rotational mould is a hollow tool made of metal, usually aluminium or steel. This structure is used to shape plastic parts and products into the desired shape.
Made to individual precision drawings, the rotational mould is mounted on a machine that rotates it in two perpendicular axes while heating the plastic material inside. The molten plastic is then evenly distributed throughout the mould. After the polymer has hardened, the product is removed from the mould. The rotational moulding process makes it possible to produce products and structures of high precision, complex geometry, with uniform wall thickness.
Where rotational moulds are used
Rotational moulding has found a wide range of applications in various industry segments. For example, this technology can be used to produce a batch of plastic tanks. These can be containers for collecting and storing water, septic tanks, oil cans, and containers for storing chemicals. The seamless hollow shape of the tanks and containers produced by centrifugal moulding makes them extremely durable and resistant to impact and weathering. This allows the products to be used in conditions of increased complexity. They can be used in agriculture, water purification and firefighting systems.
Rotational moulding of plastics is also widely used in the production of complex shaped structures that are strong, durable and resistant to damage. For example, this technology is used by manufacturers of playground equipment. The products are lightweight, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The structures can be installed both outdoors and indoors.
Rotational moulding is used in the production of medical equipment, including prostheses, medical cases and containers for medical waste. The seamless hollow structure of the medical equipment produced by rotational moulding facilitates its cleaning and sterilisation, creating a safe and hygienic environment for patients.
Transport pallets, air duct elements, agricultural tanks, drainage pipes, laundry trolleys and boxes, military protection items, cargo containers are just some examples of products that can be produced by rotational moulding.
Order a rotomould in Ukraine
KRAFT is one of the most experienced companies in Ukraine that helps customers create innovative plastic products that are moulded by rotational moulding. Moreover, we are engaged in the production of custom-made rotomoulds.
KRAFT implements customised solutions adapted to the specific requirements of your project. If your company wants to use rotational moulding for the production of its products, we suggest ordering a mould from us based on sketches or drawings. You can also order the production of plastic products, which we will manufacture according to your rotomould.
What are the advantages of custom rotational moulding?
Rotational moulding allows us to produce products and structures that consumers can only buy from us. After all, they will be made in an individual mould. The advantages of using the technology in industry include the following:
- Cost-effectiveness: rotational moulding allows the production of large hollow parts in one mould, which reduces the need for additional assembly and lowers overall production costs.
- Design flexibility: rotational moulding makes it possible to produce parts and products with complex shapes that cannot be made from metal or wood.
- Durability: rotational moulding produces parts with the same wall thickness, which makes them strong and resistant to impact and wear.
- Environmental friendliness: rotational moulding uses less material than other production processes, which reduces waste and environmental impact.
To learn more about the process and to order a rotomould, please contact us. Provide us with the drawings of the products you want to produce and your rotomould will be manufactured as soon as possible.
The cost of the service depends on the size and complexity of the mould that our specialists have to produce. After clarifying the details, the manager will calculate how much the product will cost for a particular project. All the details can be discussed by phone, via the form on the website or during a personal meeting at our production facility in Dnipro.
